Phillip Hulme, CFP®

Phillip Hulme, CFP^® is the owner and operator of Stars & Stripes Financial Advisors a fee-only fiduciary that caters to military service members, veterans and their families. Phillip launched Stars & Stripes Financial Advisors in 2022 and has worked with clients stationed or living around the globe to improve their financial wellbeing and achieve their goals. His firm has experienced tremendous growth since launching as a result of his vision to ensure no military member, veteran or their family is left behind in their financial life.

Phillip enlisted in the United States Army after graduating from high school shortly after 9/11. Coming from a military family and in the shadow of the events of 9/11 he felt drawn to service. While serving Phillip served as a signal soldier (25F) and earned many awards and decorations including the combat action badge, parachutist badge, joint service commendation medal and global war on terrorism service medal among many others.

After seven and a half years of service Phillip transitioned to civilian life to pursue his education. Phillip earned his B.S. of Business with a major in finance with the distinction of magna cum laude and his MBA with concentrations in finance and strategy both from the University of Florida. He was recognized with peer professionalism award, distinguished service award and a scholar of the year award during this time.

Upon graduation from the UF MBA program Phillip took a full-time role at Johnson & Johnson in their corporate finance organization. In that role he led a team of 36 people on a project that resulted in the transition of $600M of budget and ~1,500 personnel across the company impacting the way J&J managed their global functions workforce. Phillip later went to work for IBM.

At IBM Phillip worked as a client executive responsible for sales to the University of Michigan, The Ohio State University, Michigan State University and the U.S. Army. Phillip consistently achieved or exceeded his quota by partnering with his clients to understand their strategic needs and find solutions that advanced their goals and objectives. He helped deliver on over $34.8M of revenue annually.

In his personal life, Phillip enjoys spending time with his friends and family, traveling and reading. He is happily married to his wife Debbie and loves his seven fur-kids: Basil, Stryder, Ranger, Nori, Willie, Olive and Rain.
